Social conditions - Tenements.

Social Conditions: Manhattan tenements bordering both sides of 2nd Avenue, overshadowed by modern industrial and residential structures. The photographer is viewing northwestward from the Beaux Arts Apartments on E. 44th Street. The central building is the Daily Mirror plant and adjoins the Central Tower. To the left, on the south side of 45th Street, is the Printing Arts Building.
