Queens: Calamus Avenue - 79th Street

Calamus Avenue, east from 79th Street, showing the thoroughfare here as a dirt road, just south of the main line of the Long Island Railroad. In the center, on the south side of the avenue, is an old shingled farmhouse. It was owned by J. Gray in 1871-1893, and by Fred Bushing in 1923. It was removed in February, 1924. Eugene L.
