Queens: Calamus Avenue - Elks Road

Calamus Ave., south side, east from Elk Road to Grand Ave., showing at the left, Nos. 7481 and 7442 Calamus Ave. In the background on the east side of Grand Ave. are seen some two family frame structures. The peaked roof structure (clothing hanging on lines in back thereof) was the original Rapelje homestead and was in the hands of the Gray family from 1873 to 1909; being demolished early in 1932. This is a set of four views. In No. 4 may also be seen the steeple of St. Alberts Church and the Brooklyn Union Gas Company's tanks. May 1923. View 2: March 1923. View 3: January 1923.
