Manhattan: 97th Street (West) - Amsterdam Avenue

161-169 West 97th Street, north side, east of Amsterdam Avenue. P.L. Sperr. Shanley's restaurant occupies Nos. 163-165 and was demolished in 1931. This with the adjoining structure (167) was sold as per New York Times of December 15, 1938. The latter housed a boys club; title being transferred by the R.C. Church of the Holy Name. The New York Sun of July 10, 1939 reports the proposed erection of a six-story elevator apartment house here.
