Manhattan: St. Nicholas Place - 150th Street (West)

(1) St. Nicholas Avenue, (Formerly Eleventh Avenue), north from Fairview Avenue. At this point the Avenue winds down the hill from Fort George, coming to an end at Dyckman Street and Nagle Avenue, Inwood. The apartment buildings shown to the right are rather new. October 6, 1927. From this point of vantage is seen a magnificent panoramic view of the northernmost sector of Manhattan, north from Dyckman Street extending to Spuyten Duyvil. In the distant background are visible the Palisades of New Jersey. The buildings shown (right foreground) are Nos. 1658-1670 St. Nicholas Ave. (the 2-story building of the Central Shirt Laundry and 672, and 682 Fort George Ave. (the two apartment houses).
