Brooklyn: Old Woodpoint Road - Skillman Avenue
Old Woodpoint Road, east side, between Skillman Ave., and Conselyea Street, showing two frame houses said to be the former Town Hall of Bushwick. ( De Veany Genealogy 1885,pp. 161-162). The original Town Hall and Court room occupied practically all the ground floor, with the exception of one room in which records were kept. The war of 1812 was responsible for moving the Hall to Abraham Bogart's Tavern, at the Cross-roads, (N.E. corner of Bushwick and Flushing aves.) because of the large crowds congregating at the Hall for news.
