Eleventh Avenue, east side, north from W. 58th (right) to 59th Streets, showing a fenced area where gas holders formerly stood. Beyond 59th Street this thoroughfare changes its name to become West End Avenue, therefore the Empire Storage Warehouse is at the N.W. corner of that and W. 59th Street. September 19, 1933. Views 1 and 2 P. L. Sperr The New York Sun of September 29, 1938 reports the demolition of No. 2-10 West End Avenue and 557-63 West 59th Street, a five story warehouse formerly occupied by the National Gum and Mica Co. This appears in this view as the Empire Storage Warehouse Co.
