Manhattan: Park Avenue - 64th Street
Park Avenue Baptist Church, later Central Presbyterian Church, Park Avenue at S. E. corner of 64th Street. This church was built in 1922 for the Fifth Avenue Baptist congregation, which accordingly changed its name to Park Avenue Baptist Church. The first Service was held Palm Sunday April 9, 1922. At the time of this photograph it had in the tower a carillon which was later removed to the Riverside Church when that was completed. The church was sold to the Central Presbyterian Church in 1928. To the right is the third Church of Christ Scientist. April 1926.
