Brooklyn: Shore Road - 77th Street

(1) Shore Road, at the N.E. corner of 77th Street, showing the house of Teunis G. Bergen, from 1857-1873. In 1827 Elizabeth, daughter of Rulef Van Brunt, lived here with her father. She married Teunis G. Bergen in 1827. In 1828 this home was purchased by the father of Rulef Van Brunt. Henry Oldworth resided here from 1829 until his death in 1881. The land upon which this house is situated, was formerly a part of the Thomas Stillwell farm. This Stillwell kept the ferry running to Staten Island. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
