Manhattan: Charlton Street - 6th Avenue Extension

9, 11-13, 15 to 23 Charlton Street, north side, at and adjoining the N.W. corner of Sixth Avenue Extension, after demolition of Nos. 1 to 7 Charlton Street, inclusive. P. L. Sperr. (2) 9, 11-13, 15 Charlton Street, at and adjoining the N.W. corner of Sixth Avenue; the same scene three and a half years later. The new subway is completed (but not running yet) and Sixth Avenue, neatly paved, is helping to relieve traffic congestion. No. 9, the corner house, has been remodelled, as may be seen by comparing it with the earlier view. The old doorway has been converted into a window, and a new and depressed round-arch doorway built on the basement level. P. L. Sperr.
