Manhattan: Central Park West - 94th Street
(1) Central Park West, west side, north from 94th Street. In the background at the S.W. corner of 96th Street is the Scotch Presbyterian Church, and beyond it, on the N.W. corner is the First Church of Christ Scientist. Note the torn-up condition of the street, due to construction work on the Eighth Avenue subway. May 31, 1928. P. L. Sperr. (2) The same, three months later, showing the work of demolition in process. "The Towers," on the N.W. corner of 94th Street, is the last building to go. A sixteen-story apartment building will occupy this entire block, and two more will rise in the next block, one at 3 West 95th Street and one on the site of the Scotch Presbyterian Church.
