Manhattan: East River Drive - 49th Street (East)

East River Drive, north from East 49th Street, showing constructional details of this new marginal highway as it passes the River House and the Campanille, two modern apartment houses at the foot of East 51st Street. This necessitated an extensive concrete fill and an overpass providing access to their boat basin. Ripanian and wharfage rights were involved.
