Manhattan: 23rd Street (East) - 3rd Avenue

East 23rd Street, north side, west from Third Avenue. The low structure at the right is the newly constructed Post Office replacing the former station that stood in the next block on the opposite side. Adjacent to this is the well-known Kenmore Hall. West of the latter and occupying the easterly side of Lexington Avenue is the George Washington, a similar enterprise. Note the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company tower dominating the scene.
