Queens: 66th Road - 108th Street

66th Rd., (in line thereof) north side, between 108th and 110th Sts., showing the Jarvis Jackson farmhouse. Jarvis Jackson was the owner from 1852 to 1873. Other owners were F. D. Backus, 1891-1896; and the Cord Meyer Development Company in 1923. One Bass was also an occupant. This house was erected for Jarvis Jackson about 1820 by Carpenter Thorne of Glen Cove, just east of the original Jackson homestead which was destroyed by fire. Jarvis Jackson was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1835-1837. Another owner was Ascan Backus. Jan. 1924. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection
