North Beach airport, a local field, is in the background, seen from Grand Central Parkway. View 2 is across Ditmars Boulevard and the Parkway; view 3 shows a crowd gathered at the westerly part of the field on the opening day. In the background is the Consolidated Edison Company's gas tank and coke plant, at Hunts Point, the Bronx.
