Van Wyck Boulevard (right), at the S.E. corner of Jamaica Avenue, showing the former Distler's Hotel. John Distler settled in Jamaica in 1876 as the proprietor of the West End Hotel and park of five acres. He was also connected with Saenger's Hotel in Jamaica. View 2 is north toward Jamaica Avenue.
