Brooklyn: 18th Avenue - 84th Street

Eighteenth Ave., west side, between 85th and 84th Streets. At the left, is seen the West End line of the B.M.T., on New Utrecht Ave. At the right, is the Gunther Railway line and private right of way. It was built in 1863, by C. Godfrey Gunther Fur merchant and Mayor of the City of New York. It ran from 25th Street and Fifth Ave., (Brooklyn), to Coney Island. It was also known as the Brooklyn Bath and Coney Island R.R. It is now operated by a trolley Company. At the left, in the triangle, once stood the foundry of Michael Feigel, builder of street and railroad Cars. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
