Manhattan: St. Nicholas Avenue - 123rd Street (West)
St. Nicholas Avenue, east side, south from W. 123rd Street (extreme right and not seen). This thoroughfare crosses Eighth Avenue and upon which appears the Ninth Avenue "El". The row of buildings beyond same, form the east side of Eighth Avenue, from 121st Street to 122nd Street. At this point in earlier days, Bensons Lane branched eastward from the Harlem Road to Kingsbridge. The latter followed the present line of St. Nicholas Avenue. March 19, 1938. P.L. Sperr
