Manhattan: 23rd Street - 10th Avenue

(1) 23rd Street, north side, east from 519 West 23rd Street, just west of Tenth Avenue. In the centre, with the cross, is the first Church of the Guardian Angels (Roman Catholic). In the background, some of the apartment houses of the new London Terrace have been completed. May 31, 1930. P. L. Sperr. (2) The same, a little over a year later. The Church of the Guardian Angels has been torn down for the construction of the elevated structure of the New York Central. The railroad built a new church for the congregation, on Tenth Avenue at the N.W. corner of 21st Street. In the background, the new London Terrace has been completed. July 16, 1932. P. L. Sperr.
