Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 74th Street

(1) Central Park: The Sailboat Pool, on the east side of the Park, showing Fifth Avenue from 74th to 81st Streets, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the extreme left. The large-domed building in the center is Temple Beth-El ("House of God"), on the S.E. corner of 76th Street. The ecclesiastical looking spire a block north of it is part of Senator Clark's mansion (William A. Clark of Montana). Summer, 1924. P. L. Sperr. (2) The same, early the following spring. Notice the new apartment buildings in the block from 76th to 77th Streets. Both of these views were taken from Pilgrim Hill, the little slope north of the 72nd Street drive. March, 1925. P. L.
