Manhattan: 8th Street - 5th Avenue

8th Street (formerly known also as Clinton Place), east from 47 West 8th Street, between Sixth and Fifth Avenues, showing the One Fifth Avenue apartment building (built about 1926) in the background. This is one of the principal small shop and restaurant centers of Greenwich Village. Alice McCollister's, shown at No. 3, is one of the best known restaurants, favored not only for dinner but also for late Sunday breakfast. May 4, 1933. P. L. Sperr.
