East River - Piers 7-9 - [United States Assay Office.]

East River, showing (left to right) piers 9, 8 and 7, off South Street at the foot of Old Slip, Cuylers Alley and Coenties Slip, respectively. Pier 9, of the Munson Line, is being reconstructed to accommodate large ocean liners. Also shown (U shaped building) is the U.S. Assay Office, on the north side of Old Slip, from Front to South Streets. The view is in a southeasterly direction. About 1933. Wurtz Brothers.
