Manhattan: 35th Street (East) - 2nd Avenue

E. 35th Street, east of Second Avenue, showing mainly the southerly side of St. Gabriel's Park. This occupy an entire square block between 35th and 36th Streets, and First and Second Avenues. Diagonally thru the upper portion (foreground) of the area will run the underground approach to the 38th Street tunnel, necessitating the entire demolition of buildings show n at the left center. These occupy the frontage on the north side of 36th Street, between the aforementioned Avenues. To the right, is the New York Steam Co. plant at the East River's edge.
