Manhattan: 38th Street (West) - 9th Avenue

W. 38th Street (foreground) and vicinity, at Ninth Avenue (center, "El" thereon), as viewed northeastward from the Underhill Building on 37th Street to the east of Tenth Avenue. In the foreground at what was formerly No's 411 to 415 W. 38th Street is the Schermerhorn Playground. The five buildings to the west of same were subsequently demolished in a 175 foot swath for the present Dyer Avenue, the vehicular entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel.
