Manhattan: Park Avenue - 34th Street

5 Park Avenue, formerly 1 Park Avenue, residence of Mrs. Robert Bacon, at the N.E. corner of 34th Street. When the new One Park Avenue office building between 32nd and 33rd Streets was opened in 1926, Mrs. Bacon sought in the courts to preserve that number for her house; and it was restored to her by the Appellate Court in November 1927, but finally lost to her in February 1928. The old buildings surrounding this house have been demolished, and an L-shaped apartment house, the Green Park, will be built around it. 1930 Ewing Galloway, Photographer
