Bronx: Soundview Avenue - Eastern Boulevard

Southview Avenue, west side, just south of Eastern Boulevard, showing the E. H. Ludlow estate: The stone house is the main building on the estate which was known as "Black Rock." View 3 shows the surrounding area being built up. When streets will be laid out the stone house will be in the very center of Ftley Avenue where it intersects with Banyer Place. The Ludlow house is seen facing west toward the Bronx River and is here seen from Metcalf Avenue. The swamp seen in view 3 may be part of Pine Rock Creek, which passed through the property.
