Manhattan: 8th Avenue - 44th Street (West)

Eighth Avenue, east side, north from W. 44th Street, showing thoroughfare that in 1938 shows a decided change. The completion of the Municipal Subway in 1930 was the major cause. The 44th-45th Street block front will shortly be cleared and upon same will rise the magnificent Hotel Lincoln. Note at the left the former Knights of Columbus building and hotel under construction and which subsequently changed its name after readjustment of taxability about 1936. June 1925.
