Brooklyn: Surf Avenue - 5th Street (West)

(1) Surf Ave., north side, west of West 5th Street, showing in the foreground, the car barns of the Manhattan Transit R.R. Co., and beyond it the Brooklyn Edison Co's branch building. On the site of the car terminal, once stood the Vanderveer Concourse Hotel, which was opened on December 10, 1878. It was demolished in 1902. December 1923. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
