Manhattan: Park Avenue - 45th Street

Park Avenue north from and including 45th Street, showing the old Grand Central railroad yards, before they were electrified and covered. Crossing the yards in the center of the picture are the 45th and 46th Street bridges. The Liberty Storage warehouse is at the S.W. corner of 50th Street and Park Avenue. Opposite it, on the south side of 50th Street, is the old Women's Hospital, shortly to be demolished. Immediately south of it is the old Adams Express building. Going north on the east side of Park Avenue F. & M. Schaefer's Brewery is between 50th and 51st streets, and the Steinway Piano factory between 52nd and 53rd Streets, both dating, at least in part, from the 1850's.
