Brooklyn: Avenue R - 35th Street (East)

(1) Ave. R, at about East 35th Street, showing a view of the beams of the razed Johannes Lott barn. This property, upon which stood the house and barns, was purchased from Coert Voorhies in 1719 for $(?)11,000. A section of the house was completed in 1775. This house was subsequently moved to about 1940 East 36th Street, by Hendrick I. Lott, in the middle of the 19th century. He added the extensions to the house.
