353-361 West 57th Street (excavation) adjoining the N.E. corner of Ninth Ave., showing the clearance through to 58th Street upon which stands the 26 and 35-storied American Womans Association Building. The view is northward and shows in the left background the side walls of the 5-story tenements that face on the east side of Tenth Ave., between 57th and 58th Streets. The structures seen through the open space are buildings on the north side of West 58th Street, east of Ninth Ave. This set consists of a negative and a positive. November 28, 1927. Gift of Albert A. Volk Co.
