A general view northeastward from atop the Municipal Building at Park Row and Center Streets, showing the lower East Side area lying in a bend of the East River. The photographer is viewing towards the inlet on the Brooklyn shore where the United States Navy Yard is. Bisecting the foreground is the South Ferry division of the Second and Third Avenues "E1"; that to the left leads to City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge station (bridge on right of No. 3). In the center is the Manhattan Bridge and beyond the Williamsburg Bridge. Note the absence of Knickerbocker Village which will appear in 1934. May 3, 1932 Views 1, 2 and 3 P. L. Sperr
