Manhattan: 6th Avenue - 29th Street (West)

Sixth Avenue, west side, north from West 29th Street. Views 2 and 3 show details of the newly constructed entrances to the Hudson Tube lines. Construction of the 6t Avenue subway system imposed an engineering problem under this point. New platforms were constructed and the underground tubes entwined. The old 6th Avenue "E1" system will be discontinued and the structure demolished in 1939. Note the hotel McAlpin at the right center. December 24, 1935 February 15, 1939 April 5, 1939 P.L. Sperr
