153 Nostrand Ave., at the N.E. corner of Vernon Ave., showing a section of the old Rappelyea farm, purchased by Henry Boerum on May 1, 1828 and who, in 1866, erected for his daughter Mrs. Susan Vanderveer, the home in this view. When it was in existence it was known as the Vanderveer house; now (1929)a 5-story apartment house occupies the site. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
