Brooklyn: Clarkson Avenue - 34th Street (East)
340 Clarkson Ave., at the S.W. corner of East 34th Street, showing the J. B. O'Connor House, which was originally the Old Tavern and station of the Manhattan Beach Narrow Guage (steam) railroad, which ran from City Line, at the S.E. corner of Flatbush Ave., and Malbone Street, easterly through Malbone Street and Lefferts ave., to the "poorhouse road", which lay between the County Buildings. This line was promoted by Dr. Daly of the old City Hospital about 1877, and about 50 years ago, it was bought by the Brighton Line and discontinued. (Malbone Street, is now called Empire Blvd). 1922.
