Queens: 66th Avenue - Fitchett Street

Sixth-sixth Avenue, between Fitchett and Alderton Streets, showing in the four views the homes of Baum (left foreground of view number one), Kinsey (white house just beyond the Baum house), England (midway between the first two mentioned and on the opposite side of the street), and Springsteen's (on the same side of the street as the Kinsey house but beyond it, in view number two). Views three and four show a closeup of the England house and out-buildings. The above named individuals appear as owners on realty maps in 1852. Their descendents have held on as owners to the beginning of the 20th century. The Springsteen family have an original dutch grant of 4 acres in this area dating back to the middle of the 17th century. In 1928, the four acres brought 1,000,000. Edward England Sr. settled here in 1853 in a house, part of which is said to have been used as a hospital for wounded soldiers in the Revolutionary War. August 1925.
