Bronx: Schurz Avenue - Brinsmade Avenue

Schurz Avenue, south side, at the foot of Brinsmade Avenue (near the shore of the East River), showing the Havemeyer Mansion as it looked after it was remodeled by Collis P. Huntington, the railroad magnate, who later bought the house. During the American Revolution the British, under General Howe, landed here on October 12, 1776 for their attack on Westchester. The G.
