Brooklyn: Oriental Boulevard - Ocean Avenue

(1) Oriental Boulevard, south side, west of Ocean Ave., showing the Manhattan Beach Hotel built by Elbert Snediker in 1877 and owned by Austin Corbin, who opened it on July 18, 1877. The 4-story west wing was added in 1878, and it was again enlarged in 1879. Overall, the hotel was 660 feet long and accommodated 500 people. Its owners or lessees were H.J. Breslin, 1883; Simeon Leland, 1891; T.F. Silleck, 1899-1901; Alfred F. Amer, 1909-1910; and Joseph P. Greaves, 1911, when it was demolished in the same year.
