General view: 5th Avenue - W. 48th Street - W. 51st Street.

Fifth Avenue (center, street level not seen), from W. 48th (extreme right) to 51st (extreme left) Streets, showing structures on both sides of the Avenue as viewed northeastward from a vantage point atop a structure on the south side of W. 48th Street to the west of Fifth Avenue. In the foreground are low structures at the easterly portion of the 48th - 49th Streets block containing the (under construction) Goeleet Building and the Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas (peaked roof at right). Across same, and on the east side of the avenue is Saks Department Store. To the left of the latter feature are the spires of St. Patricks Cathedral. Preceding same are low buildings that have been replaced by units of Rockefeller City. In the right background is the steel frame work of the R.C.A. Building on Lexington Avenue and which became the present General Electric Building. P.L. Sperr October 18, 1930.
