Queens: Bowne Street - 37th Avenue

Bowne Street, at the S. E. corner of 37th Avenue, showing the John Bowne House, built in 166l. This is the rear of the house. Officers of the Brttish Dragoons were quartered here during the Revolution. The direct descendents of Bowne occupied the house until 1878.
