Manhattan: Peck Slip - South Street

Peck Slip, north side, west from South Street, showing an inclusive view of one side of this short thoroughfare which at one time consisted of 1 block and became extended to the present 3 by marginal fills of the East River; Water and Front and now South Streets being respectively at the river's edge. Here stand some of the oldest buildings in Manhattan, prominent of which are the 2 low white faced structures to the left. Individual views and pertinent data will be found on other mounts. Note the Municipal Building and the old U.S.P.0. done in the background. Preceding the latter is the Meyer Hotel at the S.W. corner of South Street which still continues its original functions, but to a different clientele. September 1914. George L. Balgue.
