Bronx: Bronx Park - Rocking Stone.

9 -ROCKING STONE, Bronx Park. Another "Glacial Waif," left stranded by the masses of ice during the Glacial Epoch. Not wishing to have this great boulder in the way of his farm yard, an early owner tried to have it dragged away, but twelve yoke of sturdy Westchester County oxen failed to move it an inch. Yet it is so nicely balanced on a rocky drift that the pressure of a strong finger will easily set it swaying back and forth.
