Queens: Hoyt Avenue - 31st Street

Hoyt Avenue, at 31st Street (vantage point), showing a view northwestward toward the Hellgate Bridge, from the Hoyt Avenue station of the "El." Some of the buildings seen here were later torn down when the area was made part of the Grand Central Parkway approach to the Triborough Bridge. The are in the immediate foreground extends to 29th Street; all the frame dwellings here were later razed. The brick homes are on the west side of 29th Street.
