Queens: 111th Street - 46th Avenue

Flushing Meadow Park (Queens): Viewing north across the western extremity of the park and showing a small community in Corona, along 111th Street, before this area was incorporated into the New York World's Fair grounds of 1939-40. All the homes were razed and the area filled in and leveled out; the Corona gates and the Avestion, Chrysler Motors and Railroads Buildings were erected here. On the left is the roof of Public School No. 17, on the west side of 111th Street and 51st Avenue. That side of the street remained intact. View 2 shows the same area in the opposite direction, i.e., looking south from 47th Avenue; 111th Street and P. S. 17 are on the right. View 3 is in the same direction as view 1, from 51st Avenue.
