Manhattan: Mott Street - Canal Street

(1)& 2) 85 to 69 Mott Street, at, adjoining and south of the S. W. corner of Canal Street (right), showing prominently two old 3 story structures directly at the corner. These bear No's. 85 & 83, and have been the property of George Bull (owner of Saratoga race track) and Albert W. Maclay since 1836. The vacant lot seen to the rear of same is a portion of this platoge (76.6 x 50.6) and will shortly be improved with a one story addition, as per View No. 2. The NEW York Times, of March 11, 1939, reports the lease of this site to the Low Cost Housing Corporation for a period of 51 years, same being negotiated by Joseph P. Day. The present buildings, said to have been erected about 150 years ago, will be razed and a two-story store and office building erected on the site. No. 1 1922. No. 2 June, 1929. Eugene L.
