Richmond: Tompkins Avenue - Chestnut Avenue

Tompkins Avenue, at the S. W. corner of Chestnut Avenue, showing the Giuseppe Garibaldi House, in which the great Italian patriot lived with his friend Meucci, the candlemaker, from 1851 to 1853. The house was dedicated as a memorial on July 4, 1907 and is now protected by a temple-like structure. A bust of Garibaldi adorns the entrance to the memorial. About 1900 Photo By Mildenburg From P.
