Bronx: Tremont Avenue (East - Schurz Avenue

(1) East Tremont Ave., east side, between Schurtz Ave. and Silver Beach Place, showing the Cedar of Lebanon. It stands on the grounds of the former Huntington estate (prior to that the Havemeyer estate) and was brougut here and planted in 1790 by Philip Livingston. It is declared to be the finest specimen of its kind in the United States. The tree is still standing at this writing (1937). 1906. Gift of Randall Comfort.
