Squatters Colony - Camp Thomas Paine.

Squatters Colony, Camp Thomas Paine settled by veterans of the "Bonus Expeditionary Force," was organized along lines suggestive of military methods. Its Headquarters at 75th Street and the Hudson River are shown in this set of 3 views. The commander and staff, however, were chosen by the men, the work being done on a communal basis and the colony was notably clean and orderly in comparison with other squatter settlements. No. 1 shows the company headquarters; No. 2 the Company Street while No. 3 is eastward across the Supply Room. September 7, 1933. P. L. Sperr. (Not a dry mount item).
