Queens: 138th Street - Jamaica Avenue

138th Street, east side, north of Ninetieth to Jamaica Aves. (elevated line thereon), showing in a set of four views the C. Carl house of 1860. J.M. McCauley was the owner in 1873; and Wm. Danmar from 1902 to 1934. This house was erected by a member of the Royal Scotch Stuart family about 1780. The walls of this house are twenty-two inches thick filled with brick; the shutters outside and inside were barricaded with iron bars. A wing detached, once a part of this house, situated in rear thereof, was used as a carpenter shop. It was demolished on April 5, 1934. 1923. View 2: April 1923. View 3: 1922. View 4: April 1929.
