Manhattan: Broadway - 44th Street

Broadway (Times Square), north from W. 44th Street. These W. P. A. photos are taken to show pavement conditions. The photographer's line of view is up 7th Avenue (which loses its identity between 42nd and 47th Streets); Broadway proper being on the right. These intersect at 45th Street. The Astor Hotel at the left, and the International Casino--Criterion Theatre Building at the right, occupy opposite frontages of the 44th Street blocks.
